David was one of the two original founders of VSS in March of 1990. His focus on growing business intelligently and organically - as well as through acquisitions - has helped VSS continually improve overall service to customers, while widening its geographic scope of operations. In fact, the company has grown so effectively, that several of its niche-based software solutions have spun off as independent companies.
David gives much of the credit for the impressive expansion at VSS, currently at a rate of 17% annually, to his talented staff, which he refers to as “The Team.” Many VSS employees are members of key industry advisory committees - an honor extended by invitation only, and an indication of the company’s position of respect within the industry. In addition, because of the high quality of employees that David has brought to VSS, the company has forged the type of strong relationships with customers that have helped it earn clients’ long-standing trust and repeat business. David is proud that VSS boasts an employee turnover rate far below the industry average and that the company continues to conduct business with its very first VSS customers.
Currently, David is focused on building the VSS business through ongoing growth and diversification. He is interested in best supporting customers’ needs by adding to the company’s existing Microsoft, SAP and IBM business units. And, while David has assigned tailored objectives to each of these VSS business units, he ensures that they operate as part of a cohesive team by providing services that are complimentary and consistent.
Looking forward, David will continue to concentrate on the company’s development - both geographically and in terms of the product portfolio. What’s more, he is excited about a new initiative geared at improving on already high levels of customer satisfaction. From this point forward, every customer engagement will involve a formal follow up process aimed at gathering detailed feedback from clients. This critical information gathered from customers will be used to better evaluate and determine VSS team success.
David came to VSS with a wealth of relevant work experience. He spent several years as Partner and Vice President of Sales for a Software Services Company. He served as Regional Manager and Vice President at a Leasing and Technology Brokerage company. David also worked as a Sales Representative, IBM Marketing Manager and several regional staff positions for the IBM Corporation. David started his business career at Peat Marwick and Mitchell, which at the time was one of the eight largest world wide accounting firms.
David studied and majored in accounting with a double major in Banking and Finance at the University of Mississippi.
